Why Notre Dame? As Notre Dame Academy is college preparatory, all students follow a challenging curriculum program. Twenty-eight sections of Advanced Placement and honors courses are offered with more to be added. Ninety-six percent of our graduates attend four-year colleges and universities. The other four percent attend two-year colleges or join the military. In addition, we are currently researching the benefits of providing the International Baccalaureate Program, an X period for student tutorials and adding more opportunities to access UC and AP courses on campus and on-line. The Academy's student-centered program stresses the importance of personal spirituality, leadership, concern for the common good, service to one another and to the greater community. Within the context of spiritual and moral values, students learn to view the world globally -- with its many opportunities and challenges. Notre Dame Academy has created an environment conducive to successful learning. Since class size averages 25 students, teachers know each student's strengths, potential and successes. Furthermore, our Academic Advisors and teachers have been trained to identify student learning weaknesses and have been provided with the tools to show students how to strengthen their personal learning style. Student participation and interaction are the norm, and classrooms at the Academy are filled with the excitement of energetic discussions that sharpen the intellect, deepen students' understanding of their subjects and hone their critical thinking skills. Notre Dame Academy emphasizes exploring possibilities and asking, "Why not?" Our challenging curriculum helps students launch their own quest for knowledge as they prepare for college, a career, and a life of unending curiosity. Interested in theater?
