Frequently Asked Questions

What is the  Open House?
The Open House is a chance for all interested students and their parents to learn more about our Notre Dame Academy community. Guests will have the opportunity to explore the school campus and to meet students, teachers and parents. Our Queen’s Council lead tours through our campus where Department Chairs present on our academic program and into our gymnasium where our extracurricular programs are showcased.

Where should I park for Open House?
When you arrive, please park in the elementary school lot off of Clarkson, just south of the school building. Out of respect for our neighbors, there is no parking in the residential area.

Is there any way to prepare for the High School Placement Test?

Yes! We have a one-day preparation class for the HSPT (High School Placement Test). The emphasis of the class is on study skills from a test taking perspective.

What happens in the admissions interview?
The interview is truly a time for us to get to know each applicant and her parents better. We are particularly interested in the reason a student wants to attend Notre Dame Academy, her involvement in the Catholic faith, her desire to be an active member the Notre Dame community and her service experience.

How many students generally apply to NDA?
We encourage all students to apply to more than one school. Usually, we receive twice as many students for the freshman class as we can accept. We do have a waiting list and our standard class size is 120 - 130 students.

Does NDA accept transfer students?
We accept transfer students based on the current enrollment and whether or not the prospective transfer student meets all of our admission requirements. Each transfer student is considered on a case-by-case basis.

Does NDA accept non-Catholic students?

As we are a Catholic school, we generally give preference to Catholic students who actively practice their faith.
