Postings from the Principal August 2010 “Everyone has inside of him a piece of the good news. The good news is that you don’t know how great you can be! How much you can love! What you can accomplish! And what your potential is.”-Anne Frank Dear Parents and Guardians, Anne Frank’s words are perfect for setting the tone of our new school year. We are blessed because Jesus the Good News dwells within us. May we be mindful of this from day to day and allow His goodness to radiate from us through all of our interactions. Congratulations to Mrs. Anita Phillips (née Ellias) and Mrs. Betsy Hetrick (née Tumpak) on their recent marriages. Many blessing on them and their husbands as they journey together through life. Joining our faculty next year will be Ms. Margaret Govero (Religion 10), Mr. Duke Mbroh (Chemistry). Mrs. Portman and Mrs. Bell will be teaching part time this year. Mr. Rawson will be our Athletic Director for the next two years assisted by Ms. McCormick. Good News about sports: We have formed a parent support group for athletics. This group is proudly called Regal Gryphon Spirit. Watch for Mr. Rawson’s letter outlining all of the exciting opportunities for those who join this group. The first big event will take place on Saturday, August 28th. We will have a BBQ, slideshow, a DJ and much more to celebrate our talented athletes and those who plan to join a sport this year. We wish happiness and many successes to both Ms. Rizk and Mrs. Biggs as they begin new stages in their lives as they have accepted teaching positions elsewhere. Our mascot, the Regal Gryphon, will be showing herself in many more places this year. She will adorn spirit T-shirts, water bottles, car flags, decals, sportswear, buttons and more. Many thanks to our Regal Gryphon designer, Amy Chase, class of 2013. Mark your calendar: Welcome to all new parents. We look forward to seeing you on campus, hearing your ideas and sharing your daughters with us. All new families are asked to have at least one parent attend the mandatory New Parent Meeting on Wednesday, August 25 in our gym at Back-to-School Night is Wednesday, Our Family Mass and Brunch is earlier in October than usual.
